Emergency Veterinarian

My clients emergency and critical care unit has proudly served Northwest Louisiana and East Texas, operating from 6 PM to 8 AM throughout the week. The clinic's mission is to provide emergency care for the community's pets after primary care facilities have closed. The highly trained staff offers intensive care, emergency surgical procedures, and hospitalization options.

Facilities and Equipment:

• Digital x-ray

• Ultrasonography

• Spacious surgical facilities with monitoring equipment

• In-house laboratory machines

• Oxygen therapy

• Cat-friendly ward

Job Description:

The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for receiving emergency and referral cases, managing hospitalized surgical and internal medicine patients, and collaborating with general practitioners and specialists. Key duties include:

• Admitting animals for urgent overnight care as needed.

• Examining, diagnosing, and treating a variety of ailments in small companion pets.

• Providing wound care, including local or full anesthesia.

• Monitoring in-hospital patients to maintain their health during ongoing hospitalization.

• Offering educational advice to pet owners to ensure preventative measures are taken      when needed.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.

• Current DEA License or ability to obtain upon hire.

• Active Veterinary State License.
