My client’s emergency hospital, nestled in downtown Colorado Springs, CO, emphasizes the human-animal bond and cultivates a collaborative atmosphere. The facility is expanding its team and seeks an experienced and dedicated Medical Director to lead.

Position Overview:

The Medical Director is tasked with ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate veterinary care while maintaining a positive work environment. Collaborating closely with the Hospital Director, this role drives operational excellence and serves as a medical subject matter expert.

Medical and Service Quality:

· Oversee medical care, encouraging innovation and adherence to best practices.

· Develop and uphold medical policies, prioritizing patient safety.

· Advocate for a patient and client-centric approach through policy development.

Team Development:

· Foster a team-oriented approach to patient care.

· Recruit and retain high-quality Veterinarians, supporting their professional development.

Community and Communication:

· Ensure effective communication within the hospital and with referring veterinarians.

· Represent the hospital at various leadership opportunities.

Hospital Operations and Compliance:

· Manage the hospital budget and identify avenues for growth.

· Provide medical insights into hospital development and equipment selection.

· Ensure compliance with regulations and participate in leadership training.

Required Qualifications:

· Possession of a DVM or equivalent degree.

· Valid Colorado veterinary license.

· Strong organizational and leadership aptitude.

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Prior administrative experience.

· Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience.

· Completion of advanced leadership training.

· Experience mentoring junior veterinarians.

Location:

Compensation/ Benefits:

· Competitive base salary (beginning at $150,000), plus production, plus management compensation.

· 401K with employer match.
